Will My Copied DVD Retain The Quality of The Original?
You will receive two levels of quality depending on what version of playback DVD player supports. VCD format is higher quality than VHS, and slightly less then DVD. SVCD is a higher quality than VCD with very slight quality loss from DVD which is unnoticeable to the untrained eye.



What is a VCD and SVCD?
A VCD stands for "Video Compact Disc" and uses the MPEG1 video compression. SVCD stands for "Super Video Compact Disc" and uses MPEG2 compression. Both are at a much higher quality than VHS, with SVCD having slightly higher quality than VCD.


But Don't I need to Buy a DVD Burner???

No!! Most software totally rules out the need for a DVD Burner which typically costs $500 or more! Instead, you can use a CD-Writer which can be as cheap as $40! A DVD Burner also requires DVD-ROMs which can cost up to $15 each for every DVD you want to copy!



Is The Process of Burning a DVD Complicated?
The process normally is complicated, but depending on the software you choose some of them give you access to step by step tutorials that can walk you through the steps, and take care of all the complicated settings for you! After the first time through you will think it's a breeze!



Do Full DVDs Copy onto a Single CD-R?
When copying with maximum quality you can usually fit 1 hour and 49 minutes of DVD playback onto a single CD-R, but you can allow longer movies to spill over onto a second CD-R.
